Almaco jacks (Family Carangidae) have a global distribution
and are most often observed in midwater. These jacks
are voracious and prefer to feed mainly on other fishes.
Almaco jacks may also become prey if larger bony fish
or sharks are in the area. This species shouldn't be
confused with a similar looking fish, the lesser Amber
Jack.
