Latin Name:  Cephalopholis cruentata

General Size:  10" x 5"

The Graysby is a small specimen found in the Serranidae family. Reaching a maximum of about 16 inches (42cm) this often solitary reef inhabitant can be found in the Western Atlantic and Caribbean waters. These groupers tend to remain cryptic during the day and emerge at night to feed. Often confused with the Graysby are hinds and coneys due to their similar appearance and habitat.
