Red Grouper

Latin Name:  Epinephelus morio

General Size:  28" x 6"

The red grouper is one of the few fish species that doesn't readily shy away from divers. In fact this grouper will often follow divers as they make their way around the reef. Their curious nature and willingness to take most baited hooks may some reasons they are becoming scarce on shallow reefs. The red grouper is in the family Serranidae -one of the more speciose families of fishes.
