Rock Beauty

Latin Name:  Holacanthus tricolor

General Size:  7" x 5"

These distinctly colored angelfish are most widely recognized by their stark yellow and black contrasting color pattern. Members of the Pomacanthidae family, these fish are found as far north as Georgia and as far south as Brazil. On the reef individuals will typically patrol defined home ranges but will hide from approaching divers. Not usually fished for sport or food, these species can often be found in home aquariums.
