The spotfin butterflyfish (Family Chaetodontidae) is
so named for a small black spot at the very top back
edge of the dorsal fin. These reef-associated fish are
found only in the Western Atlantic and not usually deeper
than 100 feet. They can be found feeding on small worms,
small crustaceans and some algae.
